Europe lights up for Christmas

1

Christmas is a season of beauty across much of the world, and no one celebrates it better than the Europeans. As the days grow dark, they light up their towns and cities with sparkling bulbs and line their shop windows with decadent treats. And they fill their streets with Christmas markets that draw people out into the cold, to shop and enjoy a glass of mulled wine, hot chocolate or “punsch”. To celebrate this special time, here’s a gallery of images from Vienna and Bruges, Belgium that I hope capture some of the feeling of Christmas in Europe.

I hope you enjoyed the lights, the punsch and the goodies, even if you didn’t get to do it in person. I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.
